“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.”
As we read in the first letter of John, we see that he gives an account of the things that have been seen, have been heard and believed among the apostles. It is in the fourth chapter of his letter that he speaks of the extreme power of love, this power of love casts out the strongholds of hear. John explains that this is so because fear has torment. It will literally torture the mind and soul. Because of this fact, the individual that lives in fear or is fearful has not been made perfect in the love of God. When someone truly surrenders every fear to God, accepting His perfect love, then the power of fear is destroyed. It can have no place in the life of God’s child. As we dwell in the love of God, we are perfected day-by-day to emulate the incredible love of God.. Let this scripture remind you to seek God and His perfect love every day and you will be secure in Him.
