“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
The grace of God is the most amazing thing that we can, or will ever experience. In Paul’s letter to Titus, whom he calls his son in the faith (1:4). It is in the second chapter of Paul’s letter that he writes to Titus about the grace of God and how it has appeared to all men. It is this amazing grace of God that has come to us in the person of Christ. Giving us liberty or freedom from sin’s bondage, this grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and to live righteously and godly in this present world. In doing so, we look for the blessed hope that is found in Christ. He has redeemed us unto Himself and purified us to be a peculiar and zealous people. I want to encourage you with these words from the apostle Paul. Live each day in the redeeming power of Christ. Live zealously in His righteousness drawing others to Christ, looking for the hope, the day of His glorious appearing.
