“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
In this world, there are many things that we seek after. There are things of necessity and things that are of want. As we read in the gospel of Matthew, Jesus is teaching about what is the most important thing that we must seek. He is speaking to the people of Judaea telling them not to worry about what they will wear or what they will eat, for this is what the gentiles or people not of God worry about. He tells them that our Heavenly Father knows everything they have need of (Matthew 6:31-32). He tells them in the devotional verse to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, then everything they need will be taken care of by the Father? What do we learn from this reading today? What is Christ speaking to us? As Christ spoke to the people of Judaea in that day, so He teaches us the same through the Word of God. In the many things we find ourselves worrying about, let us remember to seek Him first and He will meet our every need. The apostle Paul reminds the church in Philippi and us today as well.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
I encourage you to seek God every day, for He supplies all our need.
