“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah, one of the major prophets found in the Old Testament, had many things from the Lord to say to His people Israel. In this scripture, we see the word of God delivered to Isaiah as he declares to Israel that the Lord’s thoughts are far above our thoughts. Everything that we could ever know, could ever learn, or understand pales in comparison to the amazing wisdom and understanding of God. Further in Isaiah, he declares that no one can search out the depth of His understanding (Isaiah 40:28). Not only are His thoughts and understanding higher than ours, His ways are too. What do i mean by this? Everything that we see the Lord sets out to do is beyond the capability of mankind. From His deliverance of Israel in Egypt to sending His Son to die in our place and resurrecting Him on the third day, is far above our ability. As we see the amazing knowledge of God and His power, at the same time, He still loves and cares for us. Jesus teaches in Matthew’s gospel that our Heavenly Father knows all of our needs (Matthew 6:32). He even says that the very hairs of our head are all numbered (Luke 12:7). I encourage you to seek the one that knows all about us. His thoughts and understanding are far above ours. Seek Him in your walk for strength and guidance by His Spirit.
