“The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD.
Yet ye say,Wherein hast thou loved us?
Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD:
yet I loved Jacob,”
When we read throughout the scriptures of the Old Testament, we see God who is much different from the other gods that ancient peoples served. He is a God that continually pursued His people. As we read these verses of scripture, we see the Lord tells His people through the prophet Malachi that He has loved the people of Israel, yet they always murmured against God asking when did you love us? What we see in this scripture is something that has been a part of mankind throughout history. This something is us questioning God. Throughout the OldTestament and into the new up to this very day, we question God about His love, His care, His faithfulness and so much more.We even question God when He’s chosen us. Jesus told the disciples hoe He chose them.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
