“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

One of the most wonderful gifts that we are given as the children of God is faith. He gives us faith when we first come to Him, but as our relationship grows so will our faith as we seek Him and His word every day.The writer of Hebrews gives us a definition of what faith is and how it affects our life. Faith is the substance of what we hope for. It is the very substance of what we know is to come in Jesus Christ. It is the substance of eternal life. It is the evidence of those things we cannot now see but know it’s to come. In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he teaches the church that we don’t look for the things that are seen but on the things that are unseen.

2 Corinthians 4:18
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Lastly, we learn from the writer in Hebrews that through faith and it’s power, the world was framed. Faith is so powerful in our lives we must cultivate it as we would a garden. Let your faith grow through cultivation in God’s Word.Through faith, we have the assurance of those things that are not now seen but will come to fruition in Christ.
