“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
James, an apostle and brother of the Lord Jesus, teaches us about being more than simply a hearer of the word. We must be doers of the Word of God as well. James even give us a dynamic illustration of what happens when we fall short of being a doer of the word.We are as a man or a person looking into a mirror to see ourself, and when we go our way, we forget what kind of person we ought to be. We must be the exception to this. Each day, we must delve ourselves into God’s word. If Christ is to be the Lord of our life then, we must listen to Him and do what He teaches us in the word (Luke 6:46).When we live by the Word of God, to do the things that are written, God truly blesses in every deed.
